OFFLINE:EVENTS - SIT UNCOMFORTABLY offline:events acts as a catalyst for the development of dialogue and imaginative ideas by supporting independent filmmakers, journalists, authors and artists who pursue innovation in form and/or content in the performing and visual arts, journalism, and in emerging fields. offline:events is committed to working in partnership with individuals and emerging organizations that generate provocative ideas and reframe the debate by facilitating a platform for promoting public engagement between cultures whose freedom of expression is endangered or denied. Specifically, offline:events arena of interest is in those who are unfortunately touched by war or conflict. These voices are forever changed and continue to feel the repercussions of conflict and repression in its vast forms throughout their lives. War and conflict changes perspectives and choices. offline:events values collaboration and partnership that ensures the greatest levels of participation, inclusiveness, and responsiveness to those voices often unheard or unexpressed. offline:events seeks to uphold and respect these values. Strive to create an environment that promotes voice and agency, in a world characterized by discrepancies in access to freedom of expression, opportunity, and power. offline:events is funded through philanthropic organizations and individual gifts. offline:events is a non-profit, non governmental organization based in Italy, founded in the Summer of 2007 collectively by a groups of individuals from the Middle East, Europe and North America. The aim of offline:events is to give visibility to our counterparts living in parts of the world isolated because of the socio-political situation they reside in. offline:events is: Alessandro d'Ansembourg Director of Outreach and publicity, Karim Fael, Executive Director, Sheryl A.
